Whilst most Candy flip releases were more or less a crossover of pop and rave spirit, this one, especially the Adrenalin Mix, stands out as a brilliant techno-house record. The vocal moto "Is love.. is Life.. Is Love... Is Life..." grows bigger and bigger and suddenly everyone shouts ("Is Mental!!!") and the synth line hits the dancefloor with some heavy metallic rhythms. A perfect blend of belgian Hard Beat (try mixing it with Rhythm Device's Acid Rock or Tragic Error's Tanzen) and UK rave, perfect to make people come together on the dancefloor and raise hand while shouting "Mental! Mental!"
I totally agree with BomberOne.This record is a real gem and one of the cornerstones of the Hardbeat/EBM movement. The only point I disagree is the version: The "Adrenalin 6 Mix" is soft, some kind of "poppy" and totally not comparable to the B-Side. It's like a different Song when you (Candy) flip (HAHA!) to the AA-labeled Side. The great advantage is that Candy Flip manages to keep all dancers in a positive mood, so when the boots fly high there is no negative agression in the dance...I remember this track to be played in the "Techno Club" at Dorian Gray so many times (always the B-Side). I always left the floor totally wet and heart pounding. Great times, great track.
