Curious if anyone knows for sure that this was issued in 1997. I interviewed Cydonia late in 1997 and the track was still unreleased then... when Blue Room sent me promo CDs before I left London in February 1998, they included this one in the package. While it does say 1997, Blue Room were horribly late with a lot of their releases and so I wouldn't use that printed date as proof that it was released in that year. Curious if anyone remembers obtaining it in 1997...
I just stumbled upon this one today. I wonder if the track 'Chrome Android' was a true collaboration or was it solely produced by Tim and just got included on the EP because he had his touch in other stuff under the Cydonia project. Their style/sound is indeed really similar and it is clear they were working together (e.g. on the album 'In Fear Of A Red Planet' the track 'Mind Hunter' is added in the 'Rebuilt By Tim Schuldt' version). Just wondering how this all worked out between these guys back in the days when you mostly had to be physically present in a studio to make tracks together. Yes, there was some sort of modem connection allowing you to send project files across but at a few MB-s of data that was probably no more than MIDI and maybe a few samples. You were probably better off by just mailing DAT tapes to each other.
Did you get it on mini-disc from a Blue Room promo, or you had the track from a DJ friend (or the producers) who had the track? They played it to me in their studio around September/October 1997 and it still wasn't out yet!
I have this on Minidisc since 97 if that helps!
