"When 'Muse' strides out in front of a massive audience, the set looks like its been made from old leftover "Star Wars" props. The crowd, hungry for a mind-blowing experience to end the weekend, will not be disappointed . Matt Bellamy is dressed in a long white coat and looks every inch like the rockstar he's himself believing he is. For Muse, this is home turf - and for the next hour and a half they rock the festival site like the all conquering heroes they've turned out to be. The sounds that emanate from this three piece band are truly mind blowing, Matt Bellamy's custom built silver guitars producing the kind of sounds that shatter your brain - futuristic widdly-widdly guitar squeaks and squelches, this is a true virtuoso guitarist who isn't afraid to show off.

Songs like 'Plug In Baby' and 'Newborn' rock like the heaviest, grooviest things you've ever heard - a 60,000 strong moshpit gyrating to every downtuned guitar riff, all is coming together in a celebration of pure primal rage. If every band has their definitive moment, this may just be Muse's. Playing in front of an adoring audience who knows every nuance of every song, this is a mind-blowing performance. The singalongs that greet songs like 'Muscle Museum' are truly uplifting, and if this isn't Muse's definitive moment then it's at least their greatest so far. Armed with an impressive array of songs that have been designed specifically for this kind of occasion - epic seems like an understatement when hearing some of these songs blasting from the stage, that three people are producing this massive wall of noise is quite simply stunning.

A set that looks like an abandoned spaceship, monumentally epic songs, psychedelic lightshow and gigantic video backdrops showing everything from apocalyptic war zones to serene wildlife - this is a fitting end to Glastonbury 2004. Managing to pull off the performance of the weekend, on the pyramid stage at least - walking away through the ankle deep mud - the fireworks that erupt in the dark black sky seem like an anticlimax.

Just like Matt said during the show: "This is the best gig of my life". And knowing the Muse from the beginning, I haven't seen them as good as here. At least, Matt is right until now."
